See what a vehicle history report tells you
A clear summary first. The original CARFAX or AutoCheck document with your order.
How to read these findings
Accidents
Inspect the repairs after a reported accident. A history report describes reported events; it cannot establish the vehicle’s current condition.
Title status
A clean title is different from an accident-free history. Look for salvage, rebuilt, flood or other title brands in the original document.
Mileage
Read odometer entries in date order. Gaps or a decreasing reading deserve questions.
Owners
Read the ownership and usage information together. Personal, rental and fleet use can help explain the vehicle’s past.
